Week 3: Thrifty & Tasteful
Copenhagen’s secondhand scene, stripped to my Top 10 shops and flea markets that should be on your list
Week 3 of my Copenhagen Summer Guide
This week we’re talking vintage, flea markets, and secondhand gold, the kind of places where you can actually find brands like Prada, Our Legacy, Ganni, COS and the lesser known Danish brands that all of the Copenhagen girlies are wearing on the streets, all without spending your entire travel budget.
Honestly thrifting here is like a game, there are soooo many shops and you can easily overwhelmed with choice and just end up hitting the more well known ones, where you might be able to find something, but you’ll likely miss out on where the real copenhagen fashion can be found.
It probably took me 6 months of trial and error to find the spots that consistently deliver the good stuff and give you the highest chance of successfully coming home with cool pieces from designer brands at affordable prices.
So for this week’s guide, I’ve rounded up the Top 10 thrifting spots that I believe are actually worth your time when you’re traveling to Copenhagen. I’ve included my favorite weekend flea markets, vintage shops and the curated second hand boutiques where I’ve found some of my best pieces. I’m also sharing which shops to skip, and some might be controversial because they are so popular on TikTok.
For my free readers:
If you’re planning to thrift while you’re in Copenhagen, definitely check out Veras. It’s under the bridge in Nørrebro and always has a good mix of classic brands like Ganni, COS, vintage Nike, even some great no-name pieces. It’s where locals actually go, and the energy on a Sunday is really fun!.
In the full guide, I’ve broken down each spot by what it is, what kind of style you’ll find, why it’s worth visiting, and I included a Google Maps link with all the locations saved so you can plan your route efficiently and make the most of your time in the city.
Next week: restaurants! I’m super excited to share this one, Copenhagen has an amazing restaurant scene and I’ve gotten to try so many incredible dining experiences in the city and have spent a while building up my list. It’s honestly too big right now, so I need to work on bringing it down to my Top 10. My favorite cuisine is Italian and I like spots with really cozy aesthetic atmospheres or with lively fun vibes on weekends. So expect to find a mix of all that as well as the top tier budget friendly spots that you need to book in advance.
